MONCTON – February 1, 2017 – The Chartered Professional in Human Resources of Canada officially unveiled the new CPHR brand today, representing 27,000 CPHRs in the nine CPHR member provinces and three territories across Canada.
“We see this as another great stride in our shared mission to advance the HR profession here in New Brunswick, across Canada and internationally,” says Luc Page, Executive Director of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources New Brunswick (CPHRNB). “CPHRNB and our colleagues across Canada have established a clear, strong and consistent CPHR designation and have positioned it for the future within CPHR Canada. These changes reflect the fact that HR professionals today are impactful, high-value, trustworthy business leaders with unique expertise in delivering on business outcomes while supporting the success of individuals.”
The profession in Canada is now officially represented nationally and internationally by Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Canada (CPHR/CRHA Canada). Across the Country, the registration and maintenance of designations remain the focus and responsibility of the provincial member associations, such as CPHRNB.
CPHRNB continues to advance the profession through their bi-annual HR conference and through professional recognition at the Awards of Excellence. They develop unique professional development (PD) opportunities and accredit external post-secondary institutions.
CPHR Canada is strengthening their reputation as leaders and economic drivers across Canada and representing Canada’s HR profession with Member Associations around the world. Together, CPHR Canada recently established consistent minimum requirements for certification, and a national Code of Conduct; each of the provincial associations is moving forward together toward self-regulation, and they are accrediting Post-Secondary Education programs across the country that align with CPHR educational requirements.
CPHR Canada includes HR professionals in all Canada’s provinces and territories except Ontario.
The Chartered Professionals in Human Resources New Brunswick was established in October 1996 to meet the needs of HR professionals in our province for their growth and recognition. The association’s mandate includes attaining recognition as a resource on employment issues, as well as promoting and gaining acceptance of the Human Resources field for the distinct body of knowledge it provides in business. Our purpose is to promote and encourage members to develop and maintain a professional standard of knowledge and proficiency in our occupational field.
Over the past twenty years we’ve grown rapidly. As of December 2016, we represent 900+ HR professionals, students and managers from both the public and private sectors of business in our province.
Currently, we have five chapters: North-East, North-West, Fredericton, Moncton, and Saint John. Each of these chapters holds regular meetings that allow for both networking and learning. Our membership meetings provide a wealth of networking opportunities where you can share best practices, develop your HR skills through our educational seminars and gain the opportunity to provide the Association your input towards its direction and focus.
