The Chartered Professionals in Human Resources New Brunswick (CPHRNB) announces two newly accredited programs in addition to the renewal with the University of New Brunswick (UNB) on the Saint John campus. The partnership allows students enrolled in the bachelor of business administration, majoring in human resources, bachelor of applied management (BAM) and students with a completed certificate in HR to be conditionally eligible to waive the National Knowledge Exam (NKE) of the national organization when they complete their degree.

“These agreements give a solid advantage to students by guiding them immediately after graduation towards obtaining their CPHR certification. We know that UNB offers a quality program and that the students who graduate have the strong theoretical knowledge needed in our industry. This is why they will be able to waive the NKE once they graduate, which is the first step. These individuals must then demonstrate experience at the professional level to complete the requirements and thus obtain their designation as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources,” explains CPHRNB Chair, Judy Van Tassel.

Dr. Michel Rod, Dean of the Faculty of Business, says UNB students will greatly benefit from this new partnership.

“This gives our students a real advantage entering the workplace after graduation and reflects well on the program and calibre of the students,” said Dr. Rod.

CPHRNB is pleased to see UNB’s commitment to excellence in the development of human resources specialists. This accreditation renewal builds upon the academic institution’s commitment to this field when paired with other similar programs such as the bachelor of applied management with the appropriate human resources background, as well as the certificate in human resource management.

“Our members are transforming the employment environment throughout New Brunswick and Canada, through their knowledge and creativity. It is essential that the rigor that UNB applies in the training of our future colleagues be the standard in all post-secondary educational institutions,” concludes Ms. Van Tassel.
