    CPHRNB supports the advancement of the human resources profession and practices in New Brunswick. Each year, we recognize distinguished human resources professionals by awarding four prizes bi-annually. CPHR Canada also awards the Fellow distinction to exceptional professionals.

Human Resources Excellence Award

Winner of the 2023 Human Resources Excellence Award

The HR Excellence Award recognizes outstanding human resources professionals who demonstrate leadership in the profession and in their organization through solid practices and innovative programs that achieve superior organizational results.

Candidates must:

  • Work in the field of human resources in New Brunswick.

If selected as recipients, candidates must:

  • Consent in writing to the nomination and the publication of their name and photo in connection with the CPHRNB Excellence Awards.  
  • Agree to complete a confidential information form that will be used to determine eligibility.  
  • Provide a professional biography and photo to be used for advertising purposes related to the awards.  
  • Be available to attend the award ceremony. 

Criteria for the CPHRNB human resources excellence award

Leadership and Organizational Impact:

  • The recipient demonstrates leadership and vision within their organization, motivating others and driving positive changes that contribute to the organization's results.

Strategist:

  • The recipient is recognized in their field as a champion of change, influencing strategic alignment and continuous improvement within the organization. 

Commitment to the HR Profession:  

  • The recipient contributes to the promotion and advancement of the human resources profession by engaging with peers and within CRHANB. They share their knowledge and experience with other professionals and commit to their own professional development and growth.

Ethics and Integrity:  

  • The recipient is recognized in their field and by their peers for their professional values and ethical practices.

HR Team of the Year

Winner of the 2023 HR Team of the Year

Organizational Performance Team, Executive Council
Government of New Brunswick

The HR Team of the Year award recognizes a team that has played a key role in the performance and reputation of an organization, acted as a catalyst for change across the organization, and served as a trusted advisor on organizational strategy. 

The team must:

  • Have more than 50% of its members working in the field of human resources in New Brunswick.  
  • These individuals must be members in good standing of CRHANB. 
  • If selected as winners, the team members must:  
  • Consent in writing to the nomination and the publication of their name and photo in connection with the CRHANB Excellence Awards.  
  • Agree to complete a confidential information form that will be used to determine eligibility.  
  • Provide a professional biography and photo to be used for advertising purposes related to the awards.  
  • Be available to attend the award ceremony. 

Criteria for the CPHRNB HR Team of the Year Award

Strategic Alignment:

  • Strategic alignment of human resources functions with the organization’s strategy and the ability to have an overall vision.

Innovative Spirit:

  • The team proposes and implements innovative solutions to meet the needs of the organization and its employees.

Results-Oriented:  

  • The team is action-oriented and has a tangible impact on the organization’s results.

Influence Capacity:  

  • Through their approach and work, the team plays a key role in improving the performance and reputation of the organization.

Rising Star Award

Winner of the 2023 Rising Star Award

The Rising Star Award recognizes an individual who is early in their career in the human resources sector and stands out for their leadership, as demonstrated by their commitment to professional and volunteer activities. This individual pursues continuous education beyond the minimum requirements and distinguishes themselves by the quality of their work and their impact on their organization. Rising stars are the future of the profession. 

Candidates must: 

  • Work in the field of human resources in New Brunswick.  
  • Have no more than five (5) years of experience in the human resources field. 

If selected as winners, candidates must: 

  • Consent in writing to the nomination and the publication of their name and photo in connection with the CPHRNB Excellence Awards.  
  • Agree to complete a confidential information form that will be used to determine eligibility.  
  • Provide a professional biography and photo to be used for advertising purposes related to the awards.  
  • Be available to attend the award ceremony 

Criteria for the Rising Star Award 

Positive Impact on the Workplace:

  • Contribute positively to the workplace by demonstrating initiative in applying knowledge and skills in human resources, promoting the implementation of recognized and innovative HR practices, and emphasizing the value of human resources.

Training and Professional Development:  

  • Be engaged in pursuing HR training at a post-secondary institution, obtaining the CPHR designation, or participating in other professional development activities.

Community Engagement:  

  • Be actively involved in the community by participating in professional associations, extracurricular activities focused on HR, or volunteering with community organizations.

Personal Excellence and Passion:  

  • Aim for personal excellence in HR practices and demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for the HR profession.

Community Champion Award

The Community Champion Award is given to a human resources professional in recognition of their exceptional volunteer contribution within a CRHANB committee or a charitable/non-profit organization within their community. They have demonstrated commitment to their community for many years by actively participating in programs and services aimed at enriching the lives of others. 

Candidates must: 

  • Work in the field of human resources in New Brunswick. 

If selected as winners, candidates must: 

  • Consent in writing to the nomination and publication of their name and photo in connection with the CPHRNB Excellence Awards.  
  • Agree to fill out a confidential information form that will be used to determine eligibility.  
  • Provide a professional biography and a photo that will be used for advertising purposes related to the awards.  
  • Be available to attend the award ceremony 

Criteria for the Community Champion Award 

Community Interest:

  • The candidate's volunteer contributions have a direct impact on the community, and their work aligns with the needs and priorities of the community they serve. 

Inclusivity and Innovation:  

  • Demonstrate particular attention to the inclusivity of often underrepresented groups and propose new approaches to the work of a non-profit organization.

HR Service Provider of the Year

This award recognizes the exceptional contributions of a company or individual who has demonstrated a proven track record of delivering outstanding service, solutions, and support to the HR industry and/or HR professionals. The recipient exemplifies excellence in empowering HR professionals to perform their roles effectively and efficiently.

Criteria for the HR Service Provider of the Year

Service/Solution Overview 

  1. Provide a concise description of your service, solution, or tool.
  2. Highlight your unique value proposition and how it aligns with the evolving needs of HR professionals.

Approach to Service and Support 

  1. Explain your overall approach to client service, support, and relationship management.

Evidence of Impact 

  1. Share measurable outcomes demonstrating the value you’ve provided to HR professionals.
  2. This may include improvements in employee engagement, operational efficiencies, financial performance, client ratings or reviews, awards, media recognition, or other accolades.

Fellow Distinction

The Fellow distinction is awarded by CRHA Canada, and candidates come from across the country.

This prestigious award highlights the work of exceptional professionals who shine in the profession through their commitment, excellence, pursuit of excellence, and ethical sense.
