    CPHRNB supports the advancement of the human resources profession and practices in New Brunswick. Each year, we recognize distinguished human resources professionals by awarding four prizes bi-annually. CPHR Canada also awards the Fellow distinction to exceptional professionals.

  • The Rising Star Award recognizes an individual who is early in their career in the human resources sector and stands out for their leadership, as demonstrated by their commitment to professional and volunteer activities. This individual pursues continuous education beyond the minimum requirements and distinguishes themselves by the quality of their work and their impact on their organization. Rising stars are the future of the profession. 

    Candidates must: 

    • Work in the field of human resources in New Brunswick.  
    • Have no more than five (5) years of experience in the human resources field. 

    If selected as winners, candidates must: 

    • Consent in writing to the nomination and the publication of their name and photo in connection with the CPHRNB Excellence Awards.  
    • Agree to complete a confidential information form that will be used to determine eligibility.  
    • Provide a professional biography and photo to be used for advertising purposes related to the awards.  
    • Be available to attend the award ceremony 

Criteria for the Rising Star Award 

Positive Impact on the Workplace:

  • Contribute positively to the workplace by demonstrating initiative in applying knowledge and skills in human resources, promoting the implementation of recognized and innovative HR practices, and emphasizing the value of human resources.

Training and Professional Development:  

  • Be engaged in pursuing HR training at a post-secondary institution, obtaining the CPHR designation, or participating in other professional development activities.

Community Engagement:  

  • Be actively involved in the community by participating in professional associations, extracurricular activities focused on HR, or volunteering with community organizations.

Personal Excellence and Passion:  

  • Aim for personal excellence in HR practices and demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for the HR profession.
