Jeff Green Director of Talent Acquisition, JDI Jeff Green has worked as a senior HR Leader for the past 13 years. After graduating from St Mary's University, Jeff started his career with McCain Foods (Canada) as a staff accountant before taking on the role of Continuous Improvement Coordinator at the McCain manufacturing complex in Grand Falls, NB. After five years with McCain, Jeff began his HR career with Delta Hotels & Resorts. As Director, People Resources Jeff led all aspects of HR for three different hotels in Saint John and Halifax. In 2006, Jeff and his family returned to the Saint John area when he joined the Irving Equipment Division as the Senior HR Leader. Since then, Jeff has headed the recruiting HRIS implementation as part of JDI's One HR Project and in his current role of Director; Talent Acquisition is leading the development of JDI's Talent Acquisition Centre of Excellence.
Description:
Today’s stretched labor market is making it more difficult for organizations to find, recruit, and select talented people. The competition for talent is intensifying, as there are fewer qualified applicants available. This shortage of talent in Atlantic Canada makes it all the more important that organizations be able to not only attract and select top candidates, but to also retain their talent over the long-term. Jeff will be discussing how JDI’s center of excellence strategy evolved from the decentralized strategy and the successes they have had. He also be discussing best practices on how to better forecast the organizations needs for hiring rather than depending on the common “post and prey” method. Jeff will be introducing interview techniques that JDI has invested in that have assisted their organization to better select long term candidates.
