Dr. Bill Howatt Howatt HR Consulting Bill Howatt, Ph.D., Ed.D., Post Doc in Behavioral Science, RTC, RSW, ICADC, is a highly skilled and qualified strategic HR consultant, executive coach, and mental health professional with over 25 years’ experience. In 2014, Bill created the online Certificate in Management Essentials for the University of New Brunswick. For five years he authored Coach's Corner, a monthly business column in The Chronicle Herald. Today he is a regular contributor to the Globe and Mail’s 9 to 5 business career column Leadership Lab. He has also partnered with The Globe and Mail for the national Your Life at Work Study and publishing of 360 In Vivo and 13 PHS Factors on-line assessment tools. Bill is the founder of Howatt HR and TalOp® that offer services for solving complex people problems and facilitating organizational productivity while keeping a keen eye on employee care. He is a registered counselling therapist, registered social worker, and ICADC with over 20 years of clinical experience. He co-edited the Wiley Addiction Series, The Human Services Counseling Toolbox: Theory, Development, Technique, and Resources, and The Addiction Counselor's Desk Reference. Dr. Bill will share his insights on current conversations around employee stress, productivity, engagement, and mental health in the workplace. He will report some findings from his national Globe and Mail study, Your Life at Work, and will provide HR leaders insight on impressing senior leaders on the importance of investing in respectful workplaces and mental health strategies. HR leaders will benefit from learning how to make the business case, as well as how to get the facts for maximizing employee engagement, productivity, and health. Dr. Bill will introduce his Quality of Work Life study methodology and organizational change management model. These insights and benchmarks provide the landmarks for setting and implementing strategic actions to reduce risk and increase opportunities for employees to be happy, with or without a mental health issue. He will encourage HR leaders to ask the tough questions that look beyond engagement for long-term workforce sustainability. | ||
