Can employees who receive and view pornographic materials on work computers be terminated for cause? How can an employer prove incompetence justifying cause for dismissal? Should an employer terminate an employee who lies when confronted about the true reason for an absence? Often times, employers believe they have cause to terminate an employee without notice but they do not. In other cases, while employers may have had cause to terminate, they are unable to prove it in court. This presentation will discuss recent Canadian cases on terminations for cause, both in unionized and non-unionized workplaces. | ||
