KELLY VANBUSKIRK is a partner in the Saint John - based law firm of Lawson Creamer, which practices in the fields of business, labour, employment, human rights, adminstrative law and litigation throughout New Brunswick. Since his admission to the New Brunswick Bar in 1993, Kelly has practiced extensively in the field of civil litigation and, primarily, in the subjects of labour, employment and human rights. Despite his focus in those fields, Kelly has rounded out his professional experience with work in real estate transactions, corporate and commercial law and even criminal trial work. Education: B.A. (1989), U.P.E.I. (Dean's List); LL.B. (1992), U.N.B. (Dean's List); LL.M. (2003) University of Huddersfield, UK (Distinction); currently researching employee litigation motives, Nottingham Business School. Experience: Appearances in many courts and administrative tribunals, including the Supreme Court of Canada, the New Brunswick Court of Appeal, the New Brunswick Court of Queen's Bench, the New Brunswick Labour & Employment Board, Boards of Inquiry under the New Brunswick Human Rights Act, the Workers' Compensation Appeals Tribunal, the Employment Insurance Board of Referees, the Employment Insurance Umpire, Canada Labour Code Adjudicators, the National Energy Board, and conduct of arbitrations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Professional Interests: Instruction of courses and seminars for organizations and institutions including the Law Society of New Brunswick, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies, theUniversity of New Brunswick , WorkSafe NB, the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission, the New Brunswick Safety Council, the Human Resources Association of New Brunswick and many more. Publications: Kelly has had articles and papers published in the Solicitors Journal, the Canadian Bar Review, Workplace Today magazine and other publications.
