Jamie Eddy, a partner at Cox and Palmer, has extensive experience in all aspects of employment, labour and human rights law including: • wrongful dismissal lawsuits • human rights complaints • union certification applications • labour injunctions • grievance arbitrations • employment standards appeals • workers compensation appeals • employment insurance appeals • disability claims • pensions • general pro-active advice on employment and labour law issues • preparation of employment contracts • preparation of employee policies and termination agreements • negotiation of collective agreements and • the provision of a variety of pro-active training seminars for employers in the union and non-union workplace. Matthew Hiltz is an associate practicing in the Fredericton office of Cox and Palmer. He practices primarily in the areas of employment and labour law, administrative law, as well as commercial and insurance litigation. Matthew has appeared in the New Brunswick Court of Queen’s Bench, New Brunswick Provincial Court, as well as, before various arbitral tribunals on a variety of employment, labour, regulatory, civil and commercial litigation matters. | ||

Mr. Eddy and Mr. Hiltz will provide guidance for creating an effective policy, the cornerstones of an attendance management policy, and other factors to be considered when developing such a policy. Furthermore, the session will include an interactive discussion centered around a mock attendance management policy and relevant arbitral decisions. | ||
