Christin Lanteigne, Manager at New Brunswick Employer Support Services (NBESS)
Christin has worked for over 20 years for the federal and provincial governments with various departments. He also worked in the private sector and had his own consultation firm. His first job coming out of university was as director of an agency focusing on integrating persons with a disability into the workforce. Some would say its come full circle for him as he is the now Manager of NBESS, an agency that supports employers with the hiring of persons with a disability.
Donna Bennett, Investigating Officer with Employment Standards
Donna is responsible for promoting, overseeing and enforcing the application of the New Brunswick’s Employment Standards Act and Regulations. This Legislation provides standards of work that apply, as a minimum, to all employee-employer relationships under provincial jurisdiction. Some issues covered by this Act are: minimum wage, vacation time and pay, public holiday pay, termination notice and pay in lieu thereof, and leaves. Donna acts as a neutral party that provides services to both employers and employees, including responding to general inquiries, investigating complaints, and proactively providing informational services to the public.
Jessica Bungay, Associate, Cox & Palmer
Jessica practices primarily in the areas of employment, labour, human rights and administrative law. Jessica has appeared in the New Brunswick Court of Queen’s Bench, New Brunswick Provincial Court, New Brunswick Court of Appeal as well as before various administrative tribunals. She has extensive experience addressing issues in both unionized and non-unionized workplaces and has extensive experience in employment, labour, human rights and administrative law including:human rights complaints, occupational health and safety investigations, union certification/decertification applications, grievance arbitrations; and drafting and reviewing employment policies. |
At this workshop, a panel made up of professionals from the New Brunswick Employer Support Services, New Brunswick Employment Standards, and Cox and Palmer will present a variety of information, updates, and “hot topics” including family status, gender, disabilities, and more. The workshop will include presentations, discussions, and a Q and A. This workshop is not to be missed because of its diverse topics and leaders providing up-to-date key information. |
