Description: |

In any given week, more than 500,000 Canadians are unable to work due to mental health problems. Costing the economy more than $51 billion a year, this issue must not be ignored. Human resource professionals are often the first point of contact for employees experiencing a mental health problem or illnesses in the workplace. As such, it is imperative they be equipped and supported with the tools and skills required to take appropriate and effective action. It’s time to start thinking about mental health the same way we think about physical health. Join us for this interactive workshop to learn innovative evidence-based approaches to cultivating psychologically safe workplaces, reducing stigma, providing support and responding effectively to emerging mental health problems and crises in the workplace. This workshop will provide insights and equip you with practical hands-on tools and resources to apply in your workplace as human resource professionals, including the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace (the Standard), The Working Mind and Mental Health First Aid. During the workshop you will: • Learn the importance of addressing the stigma associated with workplace mental health. • Examine how to build the business case for investing in workplace mental health. • Explore various tools and resources to help create a mentally healthy workplace. • Receive a copy of Assembling the Pieces: An Implementation Guide to the National standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, a practical, hands-on guide to help navigate the wealth of information the Standard has to offer. | ||
