CHAPTER: | North-East |

Performance Reviews are seen as the dreaded time of year where both managers and employees hope that if they wait long enough, maybe everyone will forget about it.
Performance Reviews are great opportunities for managers and employees to meet and have a sincere conversation about an employee’s job performance, needs and ambitions. It is also a good opportunity for a manager to receive some feedback on their own performance as a supervisor. If done right, Performance Reviews are an ideal time to review past performance and identify accomplishments and any needs in the future (training, coaching, support, etc.). They may seem like a lot of work, but if structured and prepared properly, it is surprising how little time they actually take. Performance Review processes may change in complexity from company to company but at the end of the day it is all about good communication…and we could all use more of that in our workplace.
This workshop will review some of the challenges and practical approaches that can be used when preparing and completing Performance Reviews. In addition, we will look at practical tips when dealing with some of the more difficult conversations.
Let’s turn Performance Reviews from dreaded discussion to a welcomed exchange!
