When people feel that work helps them to discover the best in themselves, they are inspired to bring their best to work, everyday. Generous leadership, that brings out the best in people, is the skill of knowing and supporting what people need, and what they don’t need, on their own terms. As those responsible for supporting and growing our organizations’ human assets, we often think in terms of salaries, benefits, flex-time or Ping-Pong tables to help people thrive. But whether we’re senior leaders, managers or entry-level, we can think bigger than that. In this workshop we will cover practical techniques of generous leadership and team development you can use every day, in three specific areas: Generous team leadership: How to apply the Three Simple Rules for leadership and team development in complex situations. Techniques for building capacity rather than dependence, and avoiding leadership fatigue. Generous one-on-one leadership: How to use the Curiosity Technique to handle difficult conversations with problem individuals. A “conversation roadmap” of what to say and not say, to get below the surface of problems and find lasting solutions. Generous self-leadership: How to use Fresh-Start Practice to escape the “mental claustrophobia” of a hectic day. Simple “personal mental performance” techniques you can use at your desk, in a meeting, anywhere, to reconnect, even under pressure, with the more expansive, unencumbered state of mind that is the source of your own personal best. | ||
