Description: |
||
Understanding how our personnel are behaving within the organization and why they are reacting negatively to outside forces requires a robust practical skillset and knowledge-base to approach the identified problem. Mental health literacy allows us to read these scenarios on a more human level. Acknowledging that every Canadian will be impacted by mental illness through a colleague, family member or friend’s experience and that at least 1 in 3 will experience a mental health problem themselves, reality is that every member of your team will have mental illness affect them in some way. Years of education and specialized training are not prerequisites for increasing mental health literacy. This webinar will introduce you to the basics and why it’s important to have the knowledge, beliefs and abilities to recognize, manage or prevent building mental health problems. In this presentation, you will learn: • The connection between managing people, mitigating risks and mental health literacy • Common signs and symptoms in the workplace - Using real world examples • Empathy vs. Sympathy vs. Compassion as a leader • Ways to increase mental health literacy WHO SHOULD ATTEND: • Those who are responsible for planning, directing or coordinating functions of the organization, as well as those who have direct contact with the organization’s personnel. | ||
