Nate Toevs, Neil Squire Solutions Nate lives in Langley with his beautiful wife Andrea and they have 2 boys, Josh 25 and Cameron 21… Nate has a long-standing background in Retail, Wholesale and Business to Business sales and marketing activities. The Neil Squire Society for 33 years has worked with thousands of people in Canada that have physical disabilities and helping them overcome these barriers using assistive technologies. We primarily work with people that have restricted movements, chronic pain, low vision, hearing loss and many other challenges. Many of these barriers can be overcome with Assistive Technologies. Our Solutions division is a "Social Enterprise" that consists of 4 Occupational Therapists and 3 Assistive Technology Professionals. We work with some of BC’s best companies in helping to keep their employees healthy on the job, and if and when they become injured assisting to getting them back to work as soon as possible. Many employees are sedentary, and even for those that are fit, the solution is not to abandon sitting and stand for the entire day. We have seen the "sit and stand" workstation become common place. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? We will cover the pros and cons of using the new alternative working methods, do some myth busting and look at cool technologies to support employees. In this presentation, you will learn: • How and why proper sitting at the desk can improve productivity • 5 most important workstation adjustments anyone can do • Standing correctly is easier said than done, we will show you how • Short breaks can make all the difference, we will show you the correct ones • Technologies that make a difference Who should attend: • Those who are deskbound, data entry, coders, graphic designers, writers, accountants, lawyers and legal assistants.
