| Diane Rohlman, PhD Associate Professor, Occupational and Environmental Health, University of Iowa Diane Rohlman is an associate professor in the Department of Occupational & Environmental Health at the University of Iowa. She received her PhD in experimental psychology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Dr. Rohlman is Director of the Healthier Workforce of the Midwest and directs the graduate training program in agricultural safety and health. Her research focuses on identifying, and preventing occupational and environmental illness and injury. | ||

| Work is an important determinate of health. The work environment directly shapes employee health, safety, and health behaviors. Although employers are typically cognizant of the traditional hazards in the workplace that put workers at risk of injury or illness, they often fail to consider the impact of the work environment or organization on long-term health outcomes or health behaviors. Programs that expand the traditional focus of occupational safety and health of protecting workers from work-specific safety and health hazards to include the promotion of health and well-being may be more effective than programs addressing these separately. Evidence evaluating these programs will be presented. After viewing this webinar, you will: - Learn the role work organization and work environment has on health. - Be able to describe a Total Worker Health® approach. - Be provided with a structure for evaluating programs that address worker safety and health while promoting health and wellbeing. | ||
