Gross, Ph.D., BScPT Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in Edmonton Dr. Douglas Gross is a Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. Doug’s research focuses on individuals with musculoskeletal conditions, including prevention of work disability, functional evaluation, as well as investigating the effectiveness of clinical and public health interventions. He has given numerous national and international presentations and published several articles and book chapters. | ||

| Front-line employees in health care and workers' compensation frequently make challenging decisions about the most appropriate treatments for injured workers to help facilitate return-to-work. Clinical Decision Support (CDS) tools are designed to inform these decisions based on individual worker characteristics. Dr. Gross will update participants on evidence-based information from a recently conducted scoping review of CDS tools for making treatment decisions for injured workers. Promising tools will be demonstrated, including computer-based tools that have the potential to augment complex clinical decisions.
